In 69th District Rep. Mark Meadows’ final newsletter to constituents, he says that over $4,000 in state taxes was withheld this year from his and his wife’s state pensions. Since the annualized tax rate for 2012 is 4.33 percent, their pensions must have totaled $92,000 — a nice supplement to his $71,865 salary as a state representative. He says that the $4,000 would otherwise have been spent in Michigan businesses. I’m glad he now is paying his full share of state taxes.
