Ripoff Report Complaint

A Forever Recovery

Submitted 9/27/2011

We sent our son for treatment and was told and have in writting that his stay would be 60-120 days, this was part of our arrangement prior to sending him, this was also attached to a court order, which I worked very hard to get as the courts don't normally attach private treatment to court orders. Another items we was told would happen was our son would make family conference calls with a conselor present in order to help heal family damage that had been done by his actions. After we had these two items worked out we agreed to send him. At the time of admission I had to let the person registering him know that his stay was to be a min. of 60 days as she wasnot aware of that. She stated she would note it in his files and they would stage his program to fix that schedule. I then had a call with his case worker and felt she also was unaware of the 60 day min, and again told her it was attached to a court order, also gave her the web site to review this order and also offered to send her a copy of it, she assured me she would look it up.
I told her that the 60 days was part of the family decision and we had it made part of his plea as we did not want him to have the ability to leave or slide through the program in less time. It was a 60 day commitment. I then ask her when the family healing calls would be made and she stated that would happen during his last week that he had other steps he needed to complete first.
I had to continue to reinforce these two issues on a regular basis with both his case worker and his counselor as I bacame concerned that neither of these items were going to happen. I was furious yet could not find anyone at the clinic that seemed to have any interest in resolving these issues. I even left a message for the Executive Director to call which she never did. I finally sent a detailed letter and only then received a phone call from Pam Anderson. She stated she met with the patients and staff on a weekly basis and was unaware of any of these issues. I also addressed other issues that happened as the counselor stating she had a counseling session with me that I told her we did not have, ask her the date and time, she got defensive yet gave me the day and time. I then checked my phone record which proved that converstation did not happen. When I confronted her that my phone record proved the call did not happen she stated that her number would not show up as it was unlisted, I stated that everyother call showed up and hers showed up with 0000 yet showed the dates and times, at this point she got very rude and told me I need counseling. I agreed I probably did need counseling as families with these types of issues probably do need counseling, yet I am a business owner and I don't need counseling regarding business ethics, which at this point I have to state this business knows nothing about. Pam Anderson after a lengthly call stated we got what we paid for.  There is so much more that I can't even begin to describe in this note, yet am willing to send all information to anyone that would like to help keep this business from causing issues for other families. I have also filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General Office and was informed that 16 other complaints had been filed since 2009. I also filed a complaint with the BBB and am interested in looking for help in the private sector as goverment agencies have such a lengthly process. I have been a business owner for over 20 years one business 19 years before retiring and another still in business for over 10 years that deals with several hunderd clients a month and never had a BBB complaint. They had no interest in refunding my money again stating we got what we paid for.  Something has to be wrong with Forever Recovery with the quanity of complaints they have had in such a short period of time and something should be done. If you are interested in talking to me regarding this please call 785-224-7216.
