Ripoff Report Complaint

A Forever Recovery

Submitted 10/22/2012

My daughter was addicted to alcohol and oppiates.  I sent her to AFR for recovery.  Big Mistake.  First of all the expense was over 18,000$.  We had to take out a second mortgage to be able to send her. It was either that or finance at 20% intrest.
We get her there and after a few days she called me and was so upset and said the place was horrible.  Complaining about the nurses talking about how rude they were.  Begging me to let her come home.  I refused thinking it was just the drug addiction talking.
She finally settled in after about a week.  She started complaing  about the counselors saying they were very unprofessional.  I tried to contact the counselors several times and when I finally got a response they told me everything was fine and my daughter was doing well.  I said she is not doing well and she feels she is not getting the help she needs.  They kept reassuring me everything was fine.
They released her after 45 days.  I told the counselor that I signed a contract stating 90-120 days and I paid for that length of time and I knew she was not ready to come home.  She had been in rehab before and she needed the time and sober living.  They released her anyway after 45 days.  When she got home I read all the work she had done and it was obvious she just bull crapped her way through.  They did not care they got their money and that is all they was worried about.  Even after she came home they called us saying we owed more money and we told them we were not giving them another dime.  They threatened to sue and we told them to go ahead we had our contract and they broke the contract.  Have not heard from them sense.
