Ripoff Report Complaint

Best Drug Rehabilitation

The intake counselor I spoke to on the phone, Greg, said NOTHING to me about Scientology. It is a narconon based program. He claimed they offered many different programs such as twelve step based. When I asked the staff to switch to a 12-step based program I was told no. There was no supervisor available to help me. Odd seeing that it is supposed to be offered there.

Nearly every person there got VERY sick at one point or another. They will tell you there is no such thing as germs. If you are sick it is because you are letting someone or something supress you.

First of all they went through my bags while I was filling out paperwork. I had come in with 5 pairs of sweatpants. When I unpack I had 0. They looked in the shed(where they keep all the luggage we cannot have) and did not find them. Most of the females I have talked to have had at least one item come up missing. I have a feeling those "security guards" are acquiring quite a wardrobe.

They tell you on the phone that the moment you arrive you will be given medication to help with your withdrawals but unless you are lucky enough to arrive right before they leave to take everyone to the doctors office, you're SOL. FALSE

Greg was my intake counselor and he told me that only for the first 3-4 days I would not be aloud to talk to my family. He also told me we can recieve packages and whatnot. FALSE  Greg made it seem as if this place were up to par with places like Passages at Malibu or Promises. I was told it was very upscale beautiful lake-front facility that offered horse back riding, free massages & acupuncture 24 hours a day the entire visit, hiking, and food of only the highest quality.

I saw pictures of an "upstat" trip( which you had to qualify and pay for weekly) that involved horseback riding. There certainly were not horses on the property like he said.

You are allowed ONE free massage. After that they are something like 70 dollars. If you are feeling bad and need an "assist"- where they take their fingers down your nerves, nothing like a massage- it is performed by either the nurse or the CLEANING lady.

The lake is only visible from the 3rd floor window. It is most definitely NOT right on the lake like the picture in the brochure. And it is NOT gorgeous. The pictures in the brochure and on the website are deceiving.

The food was disgusting. And not because the chefs weren't good cooks, they were. The quality of the ingredients was terrible. I was also promised two meal choices at each meal. Another lie. I wouldnt feed my dog the food I was given there.

They tell you if you want to smoke after curfew all you have to do is ask you security guard. This is only true during the first week. After that they often say no.

If someone is caught smoking in their room and no one owns up to it they charge EVERYONE in the room a 50 dollar fine. Taken out of your store account.

There were employees that appeared to be on drugs.
