This "Point of View" is from 1990, but I was thinking about modifying  the democratic  process even before then. I worked for EDS (for one year) when it was owned by founder Ross Perot, and I sent this letter to the boss in 1984. In 1992, when he was running for president, I sent him another letter. And I wrote this in 1986 for Linda Peckham's Writing for Publication class at Lansing Community College.
