Protect the unborn: vote for the rapist

He may be a sexual predator, but he's OUR sexual predator, right? Besides, all those accusations were for incidents that happened years ago. Well, one was from 2016, but the rest were in 2013 or before, seven or more years ago. Twenty-six claims of sexual misconduct sounds like a lot, but he is a celebrity. He meets a lot of women. He can boast that he has been accused of sexual misconduct more times than any president in history.

The Hollywood Access video was from 2005, a whole fifteen years ago. And we know that was just locker room talk.

In addition to being a long time ago, there is little solid evidence in any of these incidents that prove that the assault actually happened and that Trump was the perpetrator. There is one big exception, and it has the potential of exonerating the president. In the E. Jean Carroll case from the mid-1990s, she kept the dress she was wearing and did not wash it, so it still has on it what we will call "male genetic material". She claims it is his. Trump says it could not have happened because she is not his type.

Trump can prove his innocence simply by providing a sample of his DNA - spitting in a cup. He has refused to do so. His lawyers argued that the Constitution gives the president absolute immunity from civil lawsuits, but a New York state trial judge rejected that argument. Carroll's suit is not for the assault - for which the statute of limitations has expired - but for defamation of character for Trump's statement in June 2019 that he had no idea who she was and that it was a totally false accusation.

Now Trump has engaged his Department of Justice to take over his defense. While the competency of Bill Barr's Department of Justice is questionable, at least the taxpayers - not Trump - will be paying the legal bill.
