Dennis Parker Lansing's chief labor negotiator AND president of UAW Local 2256 Dennis Parker is the City of Lansing's chief labor negotiator and - at the same time - president of UAW Local 2256. Seems like a conflict of interest, right? We know he is chief labor negotiator because that is what it says under OFFICERS on the third page of the mayor's proposed budget for fiscal year 2025-26:
We know he is - or was - president of UAW Local 2256 because that is what it says in the mayor's December 20, 2022 press release, which I reproduced at the bottom of my report on Lansing's retirement systems. It also says he is the chair of the Lansing Employees’ Retirement System board of trustees:
