as of December, 2019
May 2018 Dennis Graham came to my home and did a complete inspection of the inside of my my home , main floor, basement and attic to make sure it was safe and habitable, which he found no issues at all, the only thing he stated was I needed new fire alarms/dectors. List of my trying to resolve the issues from the work done on my home during the year of 2018 beginning May 2018 through current Month of Decemeber 2019. Installed a new faucet for Kitchen April 2018 . important to know since events that took place Oct 2018. May 25 2018 Memorial Day weekend, contractors left and did not clean up their mess, left yard full of nails and debris, Called the Contractor Scott Fredirckson as well as Dennis Graham, Scott Fredrickson answered my call but said he could not do anything since he was already far away. I was left to clean up the entire yard which took all weekend and took pictures of nails I had to pick up with a little magnent the size of a hocky puck. They never cleaned out the gutters like I was told they would do, actually they told me they would take them off before doing work so no damages would happen but this did not happen. Have ended up with 4 flat tires and 2 had to be replaced from roofing nails falling from gutters. May 2019 Hired a gentleman who lived in the area to try and set the gutters back up on south side of home and to clean them out since they were full of nails , shingles and wood. June 2018 Called contractor and city because the chimney was falling apart and concrete was falling off from work done beginning May 2018. Contractor came out and touched up pieces but it has began crumbling again. "The fireplace is not usable since the contractors son tossed the old bricks down insdie of the the chimney and bent the flu when it was blocking it. July 2018 called Contractor because drip edge came off and was swinging in the wind and hitting house by window and back door, he said he was out of town and could not do anything and could not reach the sub contactors. I was left not being able to use my back door to take my boy out for fear of being hit by this drip edge. It took over 1 1/2 weeks for him to come and tack it up. Showed him other areas that were not properly tacked down but told they should be okay. Aug 2018 had to call back about the chimney issues and concrete falling down in pieces. Nothing done on this also discussed the large metal piece that attaches to the edge of roof and how it does not butt up and was told this is okay as well. Not okay. From the beginning I contacted the contractor as well as the city vis email, phone calls and text messages. When things got worse and communication was ceased by the city and the building contractor is where I began trying to remedy things the best I could till the city or contractor would respond. After flood took place end of Sept 27 2018 I called my insurance company and asked for help and to file a claim, I was told this would fall back on the contractors insurance and they could not do anything. They did take the contractors information. End sept 2018 I brought in a company come in who sprayed a few areas where walls were wet and one ceiling they only focused on 1 room to try and stop mold from forming, they told me I would need to have more done, they brought in a huge dehumidifier that was suppose to run for the entire weekend but stopped working after 10-12 hrs, the company did not bring back another one after they picked it up 5 days later they explained sometimes the machines compressors and something else goes out on them. Jan, 2019, March and April 2019 paid to have my flooring taken up to minimize the growth of mold in the front sitting area March 2019, Paid to have dining room florring was removed the underneath was covered in mold from water that seeped under it when house flooded, bedroom new carpet contractor brought in was removed due to mold growth under it " main room that flooded" and was not dried out as it should have. I paid for more carpeting that also turned black under it , replaced living room carpet for the same reason This all began during the winter months. March end of April 2019 Dining room, bought paint for walls and ceiling to try and stop the growth of mold and mildew from spreading. Had not worked still coming back through. Living room walls were also painted to try to stop ordors etc from getting worse Had to remove livingroom carpeting because the growth of mildew/mold that was on the underside of it and bought new cheaper carpeting and just laid it down to once agin to try and stop things from getting worse. Has not helped at all. Mold undermeath it on padding.
March 2019 I then had to replace floorboards in the front sitting area and calked around the fireplace in order to stop water from coming into the house. " did not work" No floor covering has been put down since there is still water entering around the chimney Late winter 2018-2019 When I began getting minimal water in the basement on the south side of the home from broken gutters, missing downspouts that were taken by the contractors crew, I took the shingles that were left and put them along the house to make a run off for the water so it would come into the basement. The North side of the house also had gutters that were bent, broken along with broken brackets I used wood with the few shingles I had to try to divert water from the home. End of Oct 2018 Bathroom where water entered I removed the moldy floor tiles and washed the area down the best I could but it did not stop the mold from forming. March end of April I purchased temp flooring and had it laid down in dining room, gentleman that did this could not complete the job because of the conditions of the home with the mold and odors. It has mold growth on the back of it already FEB 2019 Bedroom: Had to remove boxsprings, and mattresses because of mold/mildew growth on them. Have not been able to replace main bedroom floor as of this time from where the carpet was cut up by contractors. Removed all molded clothing, bedding, etc that was in closets. Took doors off closets to rty and air them out. Feb 2019 Had a few shingles repaired due to them curling and thought maybe this is where water may have been coming in. 9/3/19 Hired Plumbers to do Repairs to plumbing that stopped draining from contractors dumping materials down all drains in Bathroom and Kitchen. This contractor stated I would need to completely replace my entire shower due to the contractors son and friend breaking the door, has not been replaced due to cost. Shower has not been usable since 2018 End of Sept. Will have to replace entire Shower stall system since they no longer make the doors that are needed from contactors son and friend breaking them. Kitchen paid to have the new faucet replaced that the contractors broke and had to have the back splash removed due to the water damage from the boken faucet and taped it off to minimize anymore damages, had the shelf under the sink removed due to mold growth and rotting from water getting under the are from the water leak from broken faucet. Flooring under sink has not been fixed. Bought a few counters tops with attacked backsplash to replace what has happened but did not buy enough have to get one more larger piece, was told my another contractor that the cupboards will need replaced due to water damages and mold/mildew behind the wall and cupborads. Had to buy a new computer because mine was busted when the sub contractors took a door off the spare bedroom and tossed it into the main bedroom on top of my computer. Began Oct 2018 Basement, washed areas many times with bleach mixture as well as with dawn dishsoap to try and remove water and stop mold growth. Has not helped. Burned out 3 dehumidifiers trying get moisture out of my home. Last one burned out April 2019. contractors for basement " Estimates" to correct issues 11/2019 Oct 1st 2019 Contacted LARA filed complaint on contrator Sept 2018 Called the Senators office for help , the senator contcted the city and set up a time for the city to come out to my home but they never showed, when contact was finally made they stated they would not come out and that my warrenty and contact was no longer valid. End/Mid Oct 2019 Then Called the federal program when nothing was being done and no help was available helping and no replies from contactor or city were happening. This is when the city decided to step up and make a time to come to my home, this was after several attempts were made by the federal ofice to do phone consultations that were set up but never happened between the city, The federal office, the senators office and myself. The City of Lansing never complied. Filed for FOIA November 22, 2019 for all records on my home for the Rehab Program. "update" after contacting the city several times they told me it would not be ready till Dec 23rd 2019, never heard back from them sent another email on Jan 3, 2020 asking if this is proper procedure not notifying me of the delay. The city continued asking for me to be more detailed in everything and wanted to know who emailed the city or spoke to city officials from the Senators office and HUD and who they spoke to and the dates which how am I suppose to know when I was not part of the conversations. " finally got an email from Mary Bowen City official Jan 4th 2020 that the cost would be almost 200.00 for the records. Which I do not have this much and stated there may be more cost associated. It was stated there are over 600 pages which makes no sense at all. Called several attorneys throughout Michigan but could not get help because I do not have the means for hourly rates as well as retainer fees. I do have a few of the emails from some of them that replied back via-email.
