I don't want to write out an extensive report so I'm
going to try to point out all of the things done to my family and I
with A Forever Recovery, or Forever Recovered. It is a complete
nightmare. There were so many horrible things that I experienced and
just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. Within five minutes of
being there, a huge male security guard walked in on me being
stripped searched in this tiny room where they stick you for about
four hours. I was then sent to the "detox" house and it was the most
disgusting place I think I've ever seen. And I have spent months in
Africa. The detox house was full of people talking about the
terrible things they've done, in a proud manner. They were all still
taking narcotics to help them detox. I explained that I didn't need
to go to the detox house but they sent me anyway, just so my Dad
would have to pay the $2000 dollars it costs to stay. How is it that
this foul, molding dark place with bunk-beds and no air conditioning
could cost this much?
The man that prepared the food was putting
ingredients in it with about five to six thousand calories a day.
This is fatten you up if you have lost weight due to drugs, so that
when they take your before and after picture you look like you have
changed. I starved myself on days because I could not eat what was
offered, and there are no other options.
You are disciplined no matter what your age for a
million different things. If you get a certain amount of write-ups a
week then you have to wear a neon orange mesh jersey and you are
placed in a container like area where others can look at you through
the glass while you write an extensive essay on a book concerning
your behavior. You are stuck in there for 3-5 days.
One of the employees asked me if I wanted to use his
phone and go upstairs to take naked pictures of myself. I was
attacked by a girl who was manic depressive and bipolar. I was
sexually harassed over and over by male employees. They lied to my
parents about what I was doing and saying. The woman that owns the
place parades around not speaking to anyone with her three sons who
work there and two ugly toy dogs. This is like a high school rehab,
with deplorable conditions and people are constantly having sex and
often it is with employees. They took me off of prozac cold turkey
and I'm not even going to begin to tell you how terrible I felt. The
dryers caught on fire while I was there, and the water ruined
anything I tried to wash (you had to have your own detergent.) I
passed out in the nasty sauna where security guards have sex with
other girls, because there are no cameras. The nurses treated me
like a disease and complained when I tried to get advil for tooth
surgery I had while. She said I was interrupting her breakfast. They
don't need much staff considering the 'clients" are made to clean
the entire place every day.
The people that do the intake are just trying to sell
you something. They charged my Dad over $24,000 in full so that my
bed would not be taken. There were plenty of beds, all completely
disgusting, and they physically would not let me leave. I was
constantly told that I had no friends, and that no one would write
me and that my parents don't want to talk to me. I could go on and
on and on. If you would like any other info let me know. This is my
first time complaining about any company and probably my last.
Please do not send anyone you love or know to this place, and if you
are seeking a rehabilitation program, there are a lot of good ones
that do take insurance and won't leave you with more problems than
you had to begin with. I am writing just to help others avoid the
sadness and pain this place inflicts on people. |
