The next campaign finance reports from
Lansing city council candidates are
due October 23, 11 days before the election, but in the meantime we
can look at the
reports for the primary election. For both the primary and the
general election, candidates submit 2 reports, a pre-election report
and a post-election report. Post-election reports are due 30 after
election day.
Since they were the only two running
in the 1st ward, there was no primary and thus no primary reports
for incumbent Jody Washington
and challenger Shelley Davis Mielock. For them, we will have to wait
until October 23.

There were no reports from Mary Ann
Prince, the only at-large candidate eliminated in the primary. Since
she planned to spend less than $1000, she was granted a reporting
waiver.
