A
campaign finance report filed by the "Virg Bernero for Lansing"
campaign for the period 1/1/2015-7/20/2015 gives an ending balance
of $65,555. The balance at the end of 2014 was
$45,201, so the fund grew by $20,354.
The election is not until 2017 and
Bernero has not announced his candidacy.
$33,825 in contributions were
received, all from 200 supporters at an "SOC Breakfast & Reception" at
the Lansing Center on January 29, as this
amended report shows. (103 of the attendees were apparently
freeloaders, since only
97 contributions were reported.) The cost of the event was
$10,248.58. That included
$6560.40 for room rental and $1065.18 for "invites."
I reported on a
similar event last year.
I've compiled lists of
contributions and
expenditures from the 1/1/2015-07/20/2015 report, as I've done
for Bernero's mayoral campaigns each year since 2010:
I've also
compiled lists of
contributions to and
expenditures from his 527 account going back to 2006, and I've
compiled a list of
contributions to both accounts, sorted by employer. And from
that, I've put together a list of the highest-contributing
employers to both funds. I've included only those whose
contributions totaled at least
$5,000:
